HOPE YOU HAVE A KICKASS CHRISTMASES KIDS here comes some mixed picture of our Christmas before leaving snowy Uppsala for the sun in Marrakech!!
First up is my fav Christmas brunch Punsch a la malta yes my secret for making the best ris a la malta ever invented hehe humble yes mix bought christmas porridge with coconut cream and vanilla sugar the real sort please top with dark cherries and roasted almonds then you drizzle it all with WARM PUNSCH and die twice!!
Ofc also a lot of different saffron buns actually tried all of Guntherskas versions by now saffron semla saffron donut saffron butter swirl saffron tosca mazarin saffron croissant saffron pain au chocolate saffron levain hehe decided that I prefer mine with fuck loads of butter almond paste and cardamon sugar!!
Lots of winter walks really love garden evens in winter just look at this green kale how pretty even when its freezing also my favorite buildings orangeries are almost more beautiful this time of the year when the glass are lit up beats churches every day!!
Sometimes I get totally mindblown by the easiest of things or maybe thats exactly why I get so mindblown this saffron levain that awesome Johanna been serving as the most amaze office brekkies all december is just that kind of thing so ofc that was the first thing I had on my first day of Christmas vacay!! Also the leftovers makes really great krutongs for pastas, soups and risottos!! Just fry it in olive oil and salt and you have the most beautiful crispy topping imaginable!!
Speaking of kale this kaleonara is far better than any mimmi pig carbonara in the world promise (also its so easy to veganize if you like!!) just fry chanterelles green kale and brussels in butter add cream and bring to boil before adding salt pepper then mix with pasta and top with fuckloads of aged cheese like västerbotten cheese and roasted nuts pasta-time-away!!
Ofc it was loads of Christmas goodies among them Christmas biskvi just add gingerbread spices and some fresh grated ginger in to your original butter chocolate cream and dipp the whole thingy in rich dark chocolate!!
The most important Christmas decoration FLOWERS!! Always prefer white and green palettes not so much for squeeze red at all actually!
Also been a lot of chilly snowy playful walk with this little fellow best Christmas gift ever and then I never ever been a fan of dogs!!
Since it was my bday this week I had the fortune to chose post-bday -brekkie (cause no one really wanna have their bday on a monday!!) and yes ofc since I have more than one sweet tooth I wished for one of my all time favs which is Allt om Mats really dense (no joke!!) dark chocolate cake layered with a cover of white chocolate ganache with saffron topped with roasted and choco dipped walnuts that I always in some way manage to eat huge slices of after everyone else is game over heavy cakes is a talent of mine anyways served with cream apricot desert wine double espresso and no presents needed!!
Had the traditional lobster tish back on and got ready for one more bubbly stay up sea food night!!
Omg I LOVE the combo lobster fries and bubbles!!
This years fav winter drink is this one with prosecco clementine tonic and rosemary from Buffé magazine!!
Hehe ok confession time I LOVE ROMAN ARCS but only the small one that you can buy in boxes you know important so for Christmas I wanted to do something like that but fancy and these milk chocolate pralines with roasted almond sea salt and orange blossom is what I came up with!!
Im not an expert but I really enjoy making nice packages when Im in the mood!!
This years foodie Christmas present tip is this lexikon of flavors and how you can pair all imaginable and unimaginable flavors with eachother hehe ok this is probably what I think about most in my entire life so yes I was so excited when I got hold of one I almost finished it that same night!!
