Darkest day of the year you should celebrate that with no Christmas stress and eat a Christmas donut on Leve instead!!
Its is okay to get yourself some slack from Christmas food and eat something fresh like Moules Mariniéres you can still flavor it with Christmas you know this is what you need:
2kg clean closed clams
1 dl chopped shallot (six onions or so)
3 cloves garlic
0.5 l white wine
0.5 g saffron
1 dl chopped parsley (the sort with flat leaves tastes much better tips!!)
Salt + pepper
1 baguette or sourdough
2 dl aioli
Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium-low heat. Add shallot and garlic. Add saffron. Season lightly with salt and heavily with black pepper. Increase heat to high and wine. Bring to a boil and let reduce by half, about 2 minutes. Add mussels, stir, cover, and cook, shaking pan constantly until all clams are open and says hello. Remove from heat and cover with a lid to contain heat. Add parsley, lemon juice and lemon zest. Serve directly from pan it´s hot and nice with some nice bread and loads of aioli.
There are so many Christmas snacks you can for example there little butter dough baskets that you buy and just fill with nutella drizzle with chocolate sauce and top with hazels!!
